N5SAC Ham Club

How To Join

Whether you have a current FCC license or not, you can join the ham club.

If you are interested in joining, we currently offer two levels of membership, in keeping with our goal of supporting our City while maintaining a club focused on hobbies that emphasize fun and learning in ham radio.

General Membership: Anyone can join and stay up to date on all things Amateur Radio in Sachse and beyond! Experiment with radio, use your license, have fun, that’s what it’s all about!!!

We don’t charge Dues! We have fundraisers to support the club and occasionally ask for donations to participate in certain classes and activities.

So, RIGHT NOW, you can join our Groups.io!! Click the join button at the top of the page!

In addition, to become a volunteer ARES/RACES member:

To join the ARES/RACES level and serve our city, you’ll need to do a couple of things. First, complete a background check and a few training requirements to participate in weather events or call-outs. The city leans on us for the skills we have, and we are given these requirements by them.

Minimum requirements:
A passing background check. Download Here!
Email this form to greg@sachsecert.org

Your unit number will be issued once the background check is cleared.

The following tasks can be completed over time, but are still required.
Attend a SKYWARN training every 2 years, either online or in person. Take online FEMA trainings 1 time online free via the FEMA website:
